Casino – Step Into Another World
Stepping into a casino is like stepping into another world – one filled with dazzling lights, the sound of clinking slot machines, and a heady scent that’s hard to ignore. Even the most jaded of people can’t help but be drawn in by this enticing atmosphere of pure entertainment and escapism.
The main attraction for casino patrons are the games, of course. From easy to learn slots to more sophisticated table games that require a degree of skill and strategy, gamblers of all experience levels can find something to keep them coming back for more.
Gambling is often a social activity and casinos cater to this by providing a variety of entertainment options, from floor shows to restaurants and nightclubs. Many casinos also offer special perks for high rollers, ranging from free rooms and suites to spa services and even private jet flights.
A casino is designed to make people feel good – it’s why so many of the decorations are red, which is thought to stimulate the senses and encourage gambling. Bright and gaudy colors are also used to create a cheery and festive atmosphere, and time is rarely displayed on casino walls (except for the clocks that are located behind the bar at some casinos).
There’s no place for heroes or heroines in a story about corruption and greed as depicted in Casino, but the film succeeds in making us feel sorry for its crooks. Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone give memorable performances as Sam “Ace” Rothstein and Ginger McKenna, respectively, and Joe Pesci’s role as Santoro is also a delight.
